Set up marketplace domain with Domain Discount 24

Follow these instructions to set up your own domain for your marketplace when using Domain Discount 24 as your registrar. You will need to configure your DNS records and make your domain name point to Sharetribe servers. Note that it may take up to 48 hours before these changes work across the internet.

After your DNS settings have been updated, visit the "General / Domain" page on your Admin panel to check them and start using your custom domain.

Please note that the following instructions only apply to marketplaces under a Pro or above subscription.

Instructions for www or subdomain

  1. Click the domain name in the overview, and the domain configuration page will appear

  2. At the drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the domain-configuration-page select your domain.

  3. Overwrite the displayed CNAME with the new one "proxy.sharetribe.com"

  4. Click "verify changes" 

  5. Click "save changes"

Instructions for your root domain

  1. Click the domain name in the overview

  2. In the configuration menu at "DNS settings" tick "IP address (IN A / AAAA)"

  3. Click "Remove line" until only one another line with an IP address is displayed

  4. Overwrite the IP address in the field with 52.202.58.6 or 52.202.50.54

  5. Click "verify changes" 

  6. Click "save changes"

Kindly note it may take several hours until DNS changes will have an effect since it is not possible to change the TTL to 3600 sec.
