Sharetribe Go is quite special, as we do not support only one type of marketplace, but different ones, and these can be combined in one and the same marketplace.

On the Sharetribe Go product page, we mention renting or selling goods, spaces, and services online, which are the most commonly used marketplace types, but these are not the only ones.

In a Sharetribe Go marketplace, you can also, for example, request, give away (for free), post announcements, or have something completely custom. You can have any type of marketplace you wish, as long as our order flow supports it – the buyer pays the seller, or there is no monetary transaction processed through the marketplace.

This means that reverse transactions and bidding/auction marketplaces are not supported in Sharetribe Go. Some bidding marketplaces have gone around this by using the messaging feature or comment section for listings, but it is not a solution that works for all.

With Sharetribe Go, you can have a marketplace that both sells and rents and even gives away for free! This can be achieved without the order type feature. When you sign up for your trial, you need to choose only one (selling, renting, free sharing of goods...) but can change this later on from your Admin panel.
