Custom Landing Page editor - Categories section

As its name indicates, a categories section is a section where you can showcase and feature categories from your marketplace. In these sections, you can include from three to seven categories. The section is called categories because we have found that most people use it to display and direct people to the most relevant categories in the marketplace. Each category will display an image, and in the center of the image, the name of the category will be displayed. Here is an example of how the categories section looks with 6 categories:

Bear in mind that this section can only display and retrieve information from the categories in your marketplace. If you don't have any categories or want to have information not related to your categories, try out the Locations section.  

The Categories editor can be divided into sections: Section unique ID, Section content, Call-to-action button, Categories to feature, and Background.

Section content

The section's content can be divided into title and paragraph (and it can be argued that the categories themselves are also part of the content, but we separate them in the article to make it easier to read).


You can write a title for the section, which will be displayed at the top and centered. The font size will be a little bit larger than the other texts on the landing page.


This can be used to display additional, secondary information that didn't fit in the title. It can be a single paragraph or multiple. If you want to add multiple paragraphs, add a double space between each paragraph.

Markdown is partially supported and, because of this, some symbols and numbers might display differently than expected if added at the beginning of a paragraph. You might need to add their html code instead of the symbol itself.

Categories to feature

You can add up to seven categories to feature in this section. You must have at least three categories in this section, and each category to feature must have a background image and a selected category. 

You can use the icons to the right of the category selection dropdown to remove or change the display order of the categories.

Category background image

You can add the image here. To add an image, simply click on the "choose file" button and choose a file on your computer. We add some dark overlay to the image to make the Category text readable. 

The image display size depends a lot on the number of categories you decide to add, but in general, we recommend an image size of 1000 x 667 pixels. 

You must upload an image for this section to work. If you save and publish without an uploaded image, your users may face an error. To resolve the issue, upload an image to all categories, save, and re-publish.

Selected Category

You can select a category from the "Category" dropdown. This dropdown will display all the categories of your marketplace, and you need to choose one. Remember that the name of the category will be displayed in the middle of the image. When a person clicks on the category image, they will be redirected to the specific category in your marketplace search page.
