How to solve issues like "Problem while processing your card" on a Sharetribe subscription payment page

Sharetribe plans can only be paid with a credit card. Sharetribe uses a third-party system, Chargebee, to manage billing. Chargebee relies on Stripe for payments.

How to solve payment errors

Errors with credit card payments are usually due to your bank rejecting the charge. As Sharetribe is based in Finland, some banks may automatically flag the transaction as unusual and block it as a security precaution. If you run into the error message "Problem while processing your card" when paying for your Sharetribe subscription, follow the steps below to solve it:

  1. Make sure that your card type is supported for subscription payments. Here you can learn more about it.

  2. Contact your bank and let them know that you are OK with this transaction.

  3. Ask them to allow the transaction.

  4. Ask them to check your card limit.

  5. Try to subscribe again.

How to update your credit card

For updating your subscription or card details with no outstanding payment on your account, you can follow the steps here.

If you get a reminder that the payment is overdue, there is a link in the email that allows you to update your credit card information securely. Once you have done, this let us know, and we will try to process the transaction again.

If you wish to update your card but have not gotten an email or cannot use Chargebee Portal, please contact us, and we will send you a secure link to update your credit card information.
