Offering a new payment gateway is quite a big deal for your providers, and you should definitely communicate it to help them get the most of new options.

If you have been using PayPal for a while and now want to offer Stripe too, you should email your providers for example using the Send email to users feature.

Here is a suggestion of the text you could write. Don't hesitate to adapt it a bit to your own project and tone!

New payment method: Stripe

Email content

Hi!

Thanks for being a part of our marketplace.

We have some great news! As of today, our marketplace also uses Stripe for payment handling.

For your buyers, this means a smoother checkout.

For you, this means you no longer need a PayPal account to receive payments. Instead, you can receive payments straight to your bank account, by entering your bank details in your settings.

Now, if you have also enabled PayPal, your buyers will choose whether they pay with PayPal or with credit card through Stripe. Their choice determines the payout method as well.

How to enable Stripe:

  • Log in to your account
  • From the top bar, under your profile picture, go to Settings
  • Go to the Payments tab
  • (Possibly select Bank account, in case PayPal is enabled too)
  • Add your bank details to the form: legal name, country, address and bank account number
  • Click “Save”.

That’s all! All your listings will now have Stripe enabled for potential buyers.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Cheers!
